At the Karen Blixen Museum, you will see:
- The farmhouse where Karen Blixen lived and worked from 1917 to 1931
- A collection of Blixen’s personal belongings, including furniture, books, and clothing
- Exhibits on Blixen’s life and work, including her time in Kenya and her memoir, Out of Africa
Overview
Located in Karen approximately 4 kilometers from Karen Blixen Coffee Garden & Cottages. It was established in order to protect the endangered Rothschild giraffe found only in the grasslands of East Africa. The main attraction for visitors is feeding giraffes from a raised observation platform. The center is also home to several warthogs which freely roam the area along with the giraffes.
